i vikt! En sorts nystart i tänkande och handling.

Papper: color wash (Pink Pailsee)
Stämpel: roller-doodle (Glitz Design)
Wood veneers (Studio Calico)

ALEGRIA

What scrapbooking means to me? Happiness!!

This is my contribution to the second round
in European Scrap Battle: category LO.

Pictures are from AMYLORIBCN - the event
when Amy Tangerine and Loredana Bucaria
came to Barcelona and we had two days of
workshops, happiness, crazyness etc. I made
several new friends, learned new tecniques,
had good food and spent a few days in a city
I love and that makes me happy; Barcelona.

Tre slott - three castles

Gurvan ordon - tre slott (på mongoliska).

Three castles - two of them royal and
one not. That's the name of a simple
album I made for the parents of a friend.
They came to Europe for the first time
from Mongolia and were thrilled with Sweden!

First castle: Taxinge Slott ("kakslottet") -
a beautiful (not royal) building that nowadays
is used as a cafeteria and can be rent for big
parties or weddings. Parents also wanted to
pose for a picture!

All pages are covered with American Crafts
papers from different collections, some of them
years old. I had double of some of them.

At Taxinge there's a very special cafeteria
with lots of choices; buns, cakes, tarts, bisquits
etc. Of course we tried a few of them and
weather was fine so we sat outside in the
garden taking our tea and coffee!

After that we took a walk; there's an English
garden, a French garden and an Italian garden!
And we wet our feet in the lake but it was too
chilly for taking a swim I can tell you!

The parents liked being photographed!

Next: the royal castle of Gripsholm Slott in the
nearby small city of Mariefred. This castle was
made with a lot of bricks and once there was a
prision in the dungeouns. There's a big garden
and lots of flowers around the castle.

Under some of the pictures there are small tags
with some information about the castles in
Mongolian language. I don't know the language,
friend on the middle picture
down on the right page helped me.

Then we headed towards Stockholm but took off
before getting all the way to the city, waited for
the car-ferry and went for a short visit to the
royal castle of Drottningholm. That has been the
home of the Swedish royal family since 1981.
King and Queen still live there, in the wing we
see on our right side. All the rest of the palace
is open for visitors.

Last picure down on the right has a flap and
on the back of the flap is the picture you see
down under. The cardstock is decorated with
some washitape in a matching light blue colour.

That's it folks! Thanks for watching!
I heard friends parent are happy with
the album and takes it out to show their
relatives and visitors in Mongolia!!

Street performance

betyder just för mig.

Here's a minialbum I made for a friend who graduated
from High School in Sweden. He studied to be a sailor.
And it's my first try to make a mini out of paperbags.
This patterned paper is from Landstoken, a Swedish
brand. And it's how the hats of the graduates look like.

There's not many decorations, as it is meant for a young
man, and NO pink colours involved at all. All his family
waited outside the boat where they had a little goodbye
lunch. It was a very sunny beautiful day in Stockholm.

At one o'clock there was this typical noice from the
boat and everybody came out running. All graduates
soon found their families who gave them hugs and lots
of presents and flowers to hang around their neck.

Then parents invited to something to drink.

After that we walked away to a boat the family
hired for the party. Casper was so surprised
- family managed to arrange everything
 without him noticing!

Grandparents and a lot of friends came to congratulate
during the afternoon, some left and others came.

Parents were happy! The striped patterned paper is
from Inkido, another Swedish brand who made papers
with graduation theme.

There was an abundance of food; first light snacks as
mozzarella and tomatoes, fruit and peanuts. But then
a grill was smelling delicios tempting everybody to eat
grilled beef, melon etc.

A balloon was held in place by this heavy silver thing,
and all guests were asked to write a greeting in a book
for the graduate to remember this day by.

That's how a party for a graduate can be made
in Sweden!!! No specific rules; every family decides
how to do it the best way. We liked this!

Fete week at Crafty Ribbons

In Sweden we don't have "fete" as in
Britain but I hope these cards will transmit
the idea of having fun in the sun at an
amusement park or market! Papers are
from Echo Park.

Ribbon above: Summer breeze: zipper
(one of my favourites)

Ribbon above: Happy birthday apple

Why not hop over to the Crafty Ribbons
blog to se more about fete week and
maybe even how to win some ribbons?
